A paradigm provides a foundational lens through which practitioners and researchers view, interpret, and engage with their subject matter. In this case, it offers a way to understand and approach osteopathic care with a systemic perspective.
It has the potential of creating an arena from where osteopathic practitioners if they choose, can find support in sense and decision making when trying to understand and navigate the complexity of holistic healthcare. By formulating a paradigm for Osteopathic System Thinking, work presented under this umbrella can be scrutinized, challenged and supported by the vast field of Systems Sciences.
Crafting a paradigm specifically for “Osteopathic Systems Thinking (OST)” that integrates concepts from Systems Theory is not an easy feat and proposing one at this point in time would arguably be premature.
The first steps has just been taken and as the exploration of Osteopathic Systems Thinking progress a proposal for a Paradigm will be announced when time is right.
